THE Queens Hotel in Llandudno has been sold ahead of auction, almost two years after it closed its doors for good.
The hotel, located on the promenade, was one of three establishments owned by Northern Powerhouse Developments (NPD) that had been placed in administration, and closed permanently in May 2020 after initially shutting temporarily in March of that year.
It was due to go to auction with property consultancy firm Allsop on Thursday, February 3, with a guide price of £200,000 to £250,000.
But Allsop has now said the hotel was “sold prior” to auctioning.
The 83-bedroom hotel had been welcoming guests for more than a century, and has a large dining area with about 160 covers, and function facilities consisting of two large ballrooms.
Along with the Queens Hotel, the Belmont and the Llandudno Bay Hotel were the other two establishments to be placed in administration and close.
Last year, Everbright Hotels bought the Belmont and Llandudno Bay, with the Belmont having now reopened.
