A REVEREND will be licensed as a new priest-in-charge in the Aberconwy Mission Area at a service this weekend.

Reverend Ben Lines will assume his new role following service led by Reverend Gregory Cameron, Bishop of St Asaph, in St Michael’s Church, Llandudno Junction, on January 16 at 4pm.

Ben is already a familiar face in the team of clergy in Aberconwy Mission Area, having served as assistant curate for the last 18 months following his ordination.

He will now have particular responsibility for the pastoral care of the communities of Llandudno Junction, Deganwy and Eglwysbach.

Ben said: “It has been a privilege serving the churches of the Aberconwy Mission Area as both ordinand and assistant curate.

“I am really excited to continue to journey with the people of Deganwy, Llandudno Junction and Eglwysbach as we seek the guidance and call of Jesus for the future.

“I am so aware that we are building on a great legacy of faithfulness and look forward to seeing where the Spirit is leading us in a new season.”

Originally from Birmingham, Ben came to ministry in the Church in Wales after seven years of ministry in an independent church.

He is married to Catrin and they see ministry as a joint calling and enjoy ministering, bi-lingually together.

They have three lively boys who keep them busy, while in his spare time, Ben is an Aston Villa supporter, loves reading and cooking, and is a keen runner.

Reverend Gregory Cameron added: “It is good to welcome Ben to this enhanced role and ministry.
