A WRITER who grew up in Llandudno has had her first book published, partly inspired by her happy memories of growing up in North Wales.
Chloe Perrin, who lived in Llandudno for more than 20 years before recently moving to London for university, is the author of ‘His Royal Hopeless’, a middle-grade fiction book published by Chicken House Books.
The book tells the story of Robbie, the hopelessly nice heir to the world’s most evil dynasty in the world: the ‘Sinistevils’, and has been longlisted for the Times/Chicken House Children's Fiction Competition.
Chloe, whose entire family is also based in either Llandudno or Anglesey, said: “It’s a middle-grade fiction book for children aged eight to 11.
“It’s about a prince from a very evil royal dynasty and he thinks that he is the most evil person in the world, but he’s actually very lovely and is trying to prove how evil he is.
“A lot of the setting is very castle-y and a lot of it is set in the forests. That was kind of inspired by living in Llandudno and on the Orme, and was based around everywhere I visited to hang out when I lived in Wales.”
Described by Chicken House Books as ‘Despicable Me meets Descendants with a fairy tale twist’, it is available online and from most Waterstones stores, including in Llandudno.
