A DREAM is a wish your heart makes and it is one which has come true for Jade Davies who is playing Princess Jasmine in the upcoming Aladdin Pantomime!
Aladdin will run at Venue Cymru from December 11 2021 until January 2 2022.
Jade, who is Love Island star Amber Davies’ sister and attended Ysgol Glan Clwyd in St Asaph, is starring in the production alongside panto favourite John Evans [Wishee Washee], James Lusted [High Councillor] and Eric Potts will be directing and appearing in the production as Widow Twankey.
Jason March-Williams is starring as Abanazar and Danny Hendrix will play the title role, Aladdin.
Jade, of Denbigh, said: “I’m so excited. I haven’t done panto before.
“[Performing panto from home in Denbigh] - it is going to be amazing just to be local and see local audiences and all my friends and family can come along maybe if they haven’t seen me do anything for a while which I haven’t done. It just means a lot. I think it is going to be really special.”
Jade revealed her mum Susan and sister Amber were “so excited” when she got the part.
“They were over the moon for me really. It is just a nice way to finish off the year,” she said.
“I have always wanted to be a panto princess. I’ve always said they if I do panto, I would love to be at home so I have kind of got the best of everything really.”
Jade is a self-confessed Disney fan!
She added: “I love Disney, I’m obsessed with Disney and I love Aladdin. I have seen the musical, the Disney musical as well.”
Our younger readers will be pleased to know that Princess Jasmine is one of Jade’s favourite princesses!
“100 per cent. Definitely one of my favourites,” she added.
“I think she is going to be... maybe she is going to be naive at the start, just finding her feet, and then maybe falling in love. Little things like that. And maybe comes into herself at the end of her show.
“It will be nice to go along that journey of growth.”
If given a magic carpet, Jade revealed she would Journey to the Maldives.
“I’m desperate for a holiday!” she exclaimed.
Aladdin will run at Venue Cymru from December 11 2021 until January 2 2022. Visit www.venuecymru.co.uk/aladdin-3 to book.
