A LLANDUDNO hotel has confirmed its reopening date after being closed since the pandemic hit the tourism sector last year.
The Belmont Hotel was shut in March 2020 soon after falling into administration following the collapse of owner Northern Powerhouse Developments.
The Grade II listed hotel was put up for sale with a £7million price tag that included the group’s Llandudno Bay and Queens hotels also in Llandudno, as well as Caer Rhun Hall in the Conwy Valley.
It seemed the four hotels may permanently close after a year and a half without a buyer, until hotelier Everbright Hotels confirmed a surprise takeover of the Belmont and Llandudno Bay hotels earlier this month.
Now the Belmont, which had refurbished its bar and restaurant with new external terrace soon before the closure, is set to reopen within days.
Hotel management staff have confirmed the opening date will be Monday, October 18, stating on social media: "We can’t wait to see you all.”
It is understood that Everbright will in turn reopen Llandudno Bay Hotel over the coming months, however a date is yet to be confirmed. It is also Grade II listed with 61 bedrooms, two large function rooms and has the potential to expand its facilities.
Everbright Hotels has been approached for comment.
