Help is on the way for the growing number of Palestinian refugees thanks to the generosity of a group of local residents.

To coincide with Refugee Week, a coffee morning was held in Ruthin by two members of the Colwyn Bay Amnesty Group, Lynette Hughes and Gill Jones.

The latest figures show that Palestinian refugees number about seven million, the largest population of refugees in the world.

Though the number attending the event was limited to 30 those present included members of the Amnesty Group, whose supporters come from across North Wales, as well as friends of the organisers.

Thankfully, the weather was glorious and a total of £400 was raised, which will be shared equally between Medical Aid for Palestinians and Amnesty.
