A bus company has chosen the Wales Air Ambulance as its charity of the year for the second year running.
Despite the lockdown restrictions, Arriva Buses Wales raised an amazing £1,000 for the charity during 2020. They held a variety of fundraising activities amongst staff during the summer and autumn months.
Arriva Buses Wales has recently donated a further £1,000 to the Wales Air Ambulance. They have been supportive of the charity's fundraising campaigns and placed the charity's My20 birthday fundraiser posters on its buses.
A spokesperson for the company said: "Arriva Buses Wales is delighted to support Wales Air Ambulance as its charity of the year.
"The work it does is vital to the provision of critical care to people wherever they are in North Wales.
"We are pleased to announce we will be donating a further £1,000 to help fund and support the great work that Wales Air Ambulance does."
The Wales Air Ambulance celebrated its 20th anniversary on March 1, three months after the charity achieved its aim of operating a 24/7 service. Wales now has access to the services' Emergency Department-standard critical care around the clock and to keep the helicopters in the air, the charity needs to raise £8 million ever year.
Alwyn Jones, the charity's North Wales community fundraiser, said: "Many thanks indeed to Arriva Buses Wales for your valued support.
"We were delighted that the company chose the Wales Air Ambulance as its charity of the year for 2020 and are extremely grateful that Arriva Buses Wales will continue to support our lifesaving charity in our 20th anniversary year.
"Thank you for donating £2,000 to the Wales Air Ambulance, you're all helping save lives across Wales."
There are several ways that the public can continue to support the Wales Air Ambulance. These include online donations, signing up to the charity's Lifesaving Lottery or by coming up with their own innovative ways to fundraise at home. Further information can be found via www.walesairambulance.com.
