VISITORS to Snowdonia have been warned to check weather forecasts before venturing out into to the mountains.
Weather conditions can and do change dramatically, sometimes leaving people stranded, exposed and putting their lives at risk and also the lives of the emergency services staff who have to go out and rescue them.
Snowdonia National Park cautioned on social media: “If you are planning an outing, check the weather forecast first thing in the morning and plan your day accordingly.
“The Met Office runs a 24 hour online weather forecast service providing the latest details on ground conditions, visibility, wind speed, wind direction and temperatures throughout Snowdonia.”
