A man caught driving a van near Chester while under a suspended sentence and ban for dangerous driving was jailed for five months and two weeks.
Paul Campbell, aged 29, of Kensington Avenue, Old Colwyn, must pay a £128 surcharge.
Judge Nicola Jones at Caernarfon crown court activated part of the suspended sentence because of his efforts at rehabilitation.
She said:”I am impressed with the progress you have made.”
Sarah Yates, defending, said Campbell was remorseful.
He had been trying to start a window cleaning business and went to collect some equipment when Cheshire police stopped him in September.
He admitted driving when banned.
