A THEATRE company is keeping the panto spirit alive this Christmas by bringing it to screen.
Theatr Colwyn’s annual pantomime ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’, produced by Magic Light Productions, has been postponed until 2021.
However, Goldilocks may be putting her feet up with a big bowl of porridge, but Little Red Riding Hood is packed and ready for an online pantomime adventure.
Stuart Loughland and Libby Edwards of Magic Light Productions, based in Colwyn Bay, together with Theatr Colwyn and Venue Cymru, have written and performed a unique version of ‘The Magic of Red Riding Hood’.
This has been filmed and produced at Theatr Colwyn by local videographer Geoff Tudno of Tudno TV.
Libby said: "We desperately wanted to be able to offer something to our loyal audiences this Christmas.
“We have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare a show that would be safe and feasible to deliver.”
Stuart Loughland said: “Pantomime is the highlight of the year for me and I’m so glad that we are able to offer something to the local area and beyond.”
The show features two performers, seven characters and countless laughs. There is colourful puppet characters along with the usual high standard of costumes and scenery that audiences have come to expect from Magic Light Productions.
School screenings will take place between December 14 and 17. Schools can play the pantomime at a convenient time during school hours. £25 plus VAT for one class, £15 plus VAT for each additional class.
