THE soaring vision of one of the most bombastic Renaissance men in music is set to grace Llandudno with his presence in 2021.
In a major coup for Venue Cymru's live music programme, the incredible Rufus Wainwright will take to the stage on Sunday, June 27 2021 at 7.30pm.
A member of Canadian music royalty - he is the son of Loudon Wainwright III and brother of fellow artist Martha Wainwright - singer-songwriter supreme Wainwright is still coming to North Wales to share his July 10 release Unfollow the Rules. His original June 28 date earlier this summer was postponed.
Wainwright has established himself as one of the great male vocalists and songwriters of his generation. The New York-born, Montreal-raised singer songwriter has released seven studio albums, three DVDs, and three live albums, including the fantastic Grammy nominated Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall.
A perennial favourite of the scarf wearing indie kids of the early noughties following the release of cult favourite Poses in 2001, Wainwright has charted a truly unique course over his 10 album career.
His towering vision has seen Wainwright branch out from the piano driven confessionals of his early work to spend the past decade working on two operas and commit Shakespeare's sonnets to music.
This latest release has seen Wainwright return to more straightforward pop with incredible orchestral arrangements that make this a truly unmissable gig for North Wales.
Tickets start at £40.50, with VIP options available, to book visit venuecymru.co.uk or call the box office on 01492 872000.
