A HOTEL has unveiled its revamp as it reopens to guests.
Quay Hotel and Spa reopened on Thursday, July 16.
Refurbishment works, costing more than £1million, have taken place and new Covid-19 safety measures have been implemented.
Bríd Collins, general manager, said: "We all have a part to play by taking personal responsibility, to follow Government guidelines. And at the Quay we’re taking a responsible approach too, with robust hygiene measures that go above and beyond the Government recommendations."
Some of the adaptations that have been put in place include:
A cashless environment.
Digital check-in without the need to fill in a registration card
Staff wearing the necessary personal protective equipment and to undergo daily temperature checks.
In public areas:
Where possible, corridors will be segregated with barriers and one-way systems
Sanitising stations in key areas throughout the hotel
Colleagues have been trained in the Quay Wellbeing programme and safety measures
Regular deep cleaning and sanitising public area toilets
Regular sanitizing all public areas using Electrostatic Spraying
Back of house areas will have the same levels of cleaning and sanitising as our public areas
In bedrooms:
Enhanced bedroom cleaning focusing on sanitisation with Electrostatic Spraying
Number of rooms per housekeeper reduced, to ensure each room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected
Rooms will not be cleaned during the guests’ stay
Wellbeing kits in rooms, containing hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes
All advertising collateral removed from bedrooms
All display cushions and throws have been removed
Food
Method in place to order food and beverage digitally
Controlled numbers in dining areas
Option of in room dining available, delivered to door in disposable packaging
All condiments provided in sealed jars and sachets
Disposable menus
No buffets or bar service in operation
Spa and leisure facilities are closed at present.
A statement on the website added: "During this difficult time, we’ve taken the opportunity to refurbish The Quay Hotel, with a total investment in excess of £1 million spent since we’ve been unable to accept guests.
"More importantly we’re working hard to ensure the wellbeing of guests."
