ORGANISERS of one of Colwyn Bay’s biggest and most popular seafront events postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic are looking to host it online.
The introduction of measures to combat the spread of coronavirus led to the cancelling of Prom Xtra due to take place on May 2 along with other events due to lockdown rules.
But now organisers have announced plans for Virtual Prom Xtra 20 taking place this Saturday May 2.
Events Conwy posted on their Facebook page: “As we’re not having a Prom Xtra next Saturday that you can attend, we’re going to bring Prom Xtra to you!
“Saturday 2nd May, we will be posting videos throughout the day of our talented performers.”
Cllr Louise Emery, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Events said “We’re thrilled some of our line-up have managed to provide us with a variety of entertainment for our virtual Prom Xtra. We know it’s disappointing we can’t meet on our lovely promenade, but this Saturday, the right environment for Prom Xtra is from your home, and we thank you for staying at home which is helping save lives.”
