A CONWY has stepped in at the 11th hour to host the David Wax Museum this weekend.
Originally set to play 3rd Space in Llandudno, the Mexo-Americana troubadours will now rock up to the Conwy Comrades at 7pm on Friday, February 7.
No doubt welcome news for music lovers, the incredible band slotted in a visit to North Wales as a last minute addition to their UK tour ranging from Bristol to Glasgow.
It's not just any band that distinguishes itself at the industry's biggest festival, Texas' South By South West, but so impressive are the David Wax Museum that Time magazine named them in their top 10 in 2011. They have also appeared in truly joyous sessions of both the industry benchmark shows NPR's Tiny Desk and KEXP as well as the Newport Folk Festival.
David Wax Museum is a folk and roots rock band blending traditional Son Mexicano folk with Americana into a hybrid style they call 'Mexo-Americana'. Think a combination of Blitzen Trapper and Buena Vista Social Club on the Rolling Thunder Review and you're dipping your toe in the right eclectic waters.
David Wax and violinist Suz Slezak are its core members and, true to tradition all of the band's five albums have been self-released, supported by grassroots efforts and an active touring schedule.
Returning to the UK for the first time since playing The Levellers' Beautiful Days Festival in 2017, this in absolutely unmissable gig for 2020.
Tickets are £10, and are still being sold through 3rd spaces website and tickets already purchased will still be valid for the new venue. To book click here.
