LLANDUDNO Sailing Club are hosting a free event this weekend as part of a nationwide initiative.
The RYA’s Push the Boat Out day is aimed at those wanting to try the sport for the first time, or people looking to get back on the water and will take place on Saturday, May 12.
The nationwide event will see thousands of people taking part in sailing or windsurfing activities, with open days and taster sessions taking place at sailing clubs and centres across the country.
Club commodore Philip Roberts, said: “We’re inviting the local community to come down to have a go at sailing, see what our club has to offer and get involved. Who knows, you might just get hooked.
"Sailing can be as physical or as relaxing as you want to make it, you can sail with others or on your own, do it competitively or potter about and just enjoy the feeling of being outside in the elements."
Members will be offering visitors the chance to try a sail in a dinghy with an experienced sailor, and to find out about the many training, racing and social activities for adults and juniors at the club.
The club is an approved RYA training centre and will provide all safety equipment, including buoyancy aids.
The event will run from 10.30am-3pm and anyone wishing to book their place should contact Gareth Roberts on 07825 637578 or email garethr63@btinternet.com.
