Boy, 12, on bike in critical condition after crash with minibus in Conwy county

A twelve-year old boy is in a critical condition in hospital following a road traffic collision in Trefriw yesterday.

North Wales Police received a report at 4.21pm of a collision on Crafnant Road involving a boy on a bicycle and a Ford Transit minibus.

Emergency services attended the scene and the road was closed.

The cyclist was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool with serious injuries.

Sergeant Nicola Grimes-Williams from the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are appealing for witnesses and are asking anybody with information to contact us.”

Anyone who witnessed what happened or who has any information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference number V032658.
