A Conwy man has been arrested on suspicion of rape

A 38-year-old man has been arrested and released on bail following an investigation into a sexual assault in Rhos-on-Sea.

Detectives investigating the report of a serious sexual assault on the Cayley Promenade in Rhos on Sea during the early hours of Tuesday, November 1 have made an arrest.

DI William Jones of the force’s Amethyst Team said “Shortly after 11pm on Tuesday, November 8 officers arrested a 38-year-old local man on suspicion of rape. Following interview he was bailed from the Police Station, with strict bail conditions, to allow officers time to complete the investigation.

"The victim and family have been updated and we will continue to support them throughout . Despite an arrest having been made the investigation is still very much at an early stage and so if anyone can assist I’d urge they make contact as soon as possible”
