A CONWY woman is in the running for Oscar glory this weekend.

Kimberley Warner will travel to LA this Sunday as she is co-producer of the documentary Claude Lanzmann: Spectres of the Shoah, nominated for a short film: documentary Academy Award.

The film will be screened on S4C tonight (February 24) at 10pm, ahead of the Oscars ceremony.

“It's amazing to think that I'll soon be at the Academy Awards and that the film will air on S4C shortly before the ceremony,” said Kimberley.

“It's these contrasts that make documentary filmmaking so rich: between glamour and small teams fulfilling multiple roles to get the job done; between a kind of mad inquisitiveness about other lives and worlds and a need to bring your work back to your home country."

The holocaust film, written and directed by journalist Adam Benzine, and sold across the world will be shown on S4C with Welsh subtitles under the title Claude Lanzmann: Cysgodion y Shoah.
